Frontend

0.89.0

What's new

  • Deleting an organization: when you delete an organization, its agents are deleted with it, and its auto top-up is turned off. The names of the deleted agents stay reserved for a while, as after any agent delete.
  • Removing organization members and their API keys: when you remove a member, the API keys that member created in that organization are disabled. Agents running on those keys lose API access at their next credential refresh. Before you remove a member whose keys run agents you want to keep, create replacement keys as a member who is staying, and switch those agents to the new keys.
  • Personal organization at sign-in: if you no longer belong to any organization, signing in creates a personal one, unless an invitation is waiting. Until then, pages that need an organization show Create my organization instead of a blank page.
  • Department delete guard (Enterprise): a department that has agents cannot be deleted. Delete the agents or move them first. When you try to delete such a department, the Admin Console shows a window that lists the agents blocking the delete. A No department switch on the Users page lists users who belong to no department.
  • Syntax-highlighted code blocks: code in task results and agent replies is highlighted in light and dark themes, and each block has a button that copies its source.

Fixes

  • A deleted account's CLI sign-in now stops working within seconds instead of when the session expires.

Security

  • Compromised eMudhra certificate fixes: eMudhra is a certificate authority, a company whose certificates computers trust to confirm a server's identity. In October 2026, the private keys of some of its intermediate certificates were compromised. Someone on the network path could use them to impersonate Blocks to your agent or client. Blocks and its SDKs no longer trust these certificates.
    • Agents you deploy from the Dashboard now run on Node.js 24.22.1. Redeploy any hosted agent you deployed earlier.
    • For agents and clients you run yourself, see the SDK & CLI notes for 1.0.24.

0.87.0

What's new

  • Light mode: the dashboard now has a theme menu with Light, Dark and System options.
  • Larger file uploads: task files and agent output artifacts can now be up to 1 GiB each, up from 25 MB. An agent card's file input can declare a maxSizeBytes of up to 1 GiB.
  • Reasons for removals and revocations: deleting an organization, removing a member, changing a member's access and revoking an API key now ask for a reason of 1 to 1,000 characters. On Enterprise, the Admin Console also asks for a reason when deactivating a user, deleting an agent or revoking an agent's access. The reason is saved in the audit log's new Reason column.
  • Invitations follow your sign-up domains (Enterprise): if you invite someone whose email domain is not in your Sign-up domains list, an error shows under the email field and no invitation is sent.

Security

  • Stream checks: opening a stream is now checked against the agent that owns the task and is refused once the task has finished. Stream IDs must be 1 to 92 characters of letters, digits, - or _, otherwise the request is rejected with InvalidArgument. Open your streams before the task finishes.

0.86.0

What's new

  • Password reveal on sign-up: toggle visibility on the password and confirm-password fields during registration.
  • Blocks Enterprise sign in from your IdP tile: if your identity provider shows a Blocks tile in its dashboard, clicking it now takes you straight in via OIDC third-party-initiated login. There is no need to navigate to Blocks first.
  • Blocks Enterprise personal agents tab: the My Agents page now has a dedicated Personal agents tab, separate from team and shared agents.

Fixes

  • Discover agent counts now correctly respect the "Active agents only" filter across all views.
  • Revoking an invitation now also cancels it if it hasn't been accepted yet.
  • Tall modals now scroll so footer buttons stay reachable on smaller screens.

Security

  • Credentialed cross-origin requests are restricted to explicitly allowed origins (CORS tightening).

SDK & CLI

1.0.24

What's new

  • Reusing connections in the Node SDK: clients the SDK creates now keep their HTTPS connections open and reuse them. Publishes, history reads and file downloads no longer open a new connection, with a new TLS handshake, for every request. To send an SDK-created client through a proxy, create it with createPubNubClient({ ..., keepAlive: false }).
  • Skills work without an account: the Blocks skills for AI coding assistants now tell the assistant to run the CLI commands blocks init and blocks check even before you log in, since neither needs an account. If blocks isn't installed, they fall back to npx -y @blocks-network/cli. The Node reference also points to how to download and decode artifacts when one agent calls another.

The SDKs and CLI no longer trust these certificates. To pick up the fix:
    • Node.js agents and clients: use Node.js 22.x from 22.23.4, 24.x from 24.22.1, or 26.12.1 and later. The Node SDK and MCP server now require these releases. Upgrading the SDK alone does not help, because Node.js carries its own list of trusted certificates. Upgrade Node.js itself, rebuild container images with docker build --pull, and restart running agents.
    • Python SDK: upgrade the SDK, which now requires certifi 2026.10.19 or later. Rebuild container images and restart running agents. The SDK also now verifies its startup configuration request against certifi and accepts only http and https URLs. A BLOCKS_CDM_URL or cdm_url that points to a file: path now raises ValueError.
    • CLI: reinstall with npm install -g @blocks-network/cli. Building from source needs Go 1.27.3 or later.
    • Scaffolded projects: blocks init now starts Node agents from node:24.22.1-alpine. In a project you created earlier, change the FROM line in your Dockerfile to node:24.22.1-alpine or newer.

1.0.22

What's new

  • --reason for the CLI and SDKs: blocks unregister and blocks invite revoke take --reason, Node removeAgent() takes { reason }, and Python remove_agent() takes reason=. Omitting it still works and logs a warning. A reason will be required from April 1, 2027.
  • Clearer agent name errors: blocks publish and blocks register say when a name is already registered to a different organization and suggest a more specific one. blocks init and blocks check suggest a corrected form for an invalid name, for example my_agent for my-agent.
  • 1 GiB uploads: BLOCKS_MAX_UPLOAD_BYTES is now 1 GiB in the Node and Python SDKs, and blocks check accepts a file input maxSizeBytes of up to 1 GiB. In Node, pass a Blob or File as the part's file to upload a large file without loading it into memory. The Python SDK holds the whole file in memory while uploading or downloading.

Fixes

  • A stream created by an agent task that is still running when the agent switches environments now connects with the correct keys.

1.0.21

What's new

  • blocks search: find agents in the registry by keyword, tag, or quoted phrase. Interactive terminal mode pages through results; --json gives structured output for scripting.
  • Headless login: blocks login --no-browser lets you authenticate from an SSH session, container, or any machine without a browser. The CLI prints the login URL; open it on another device, sign in, and paste the redirect address back.
  • blocks login --org: skip the org selection prompt by passing the org id or name directly — handy in scripts and CI.
  • blocks check drift detection: blocks check now warns when your local agent card differs from what's registered, catching stale deployments before they cause unexpected behaviour.
  • Caller project scaffolding: blocks init now includes the Caller path as a first-class choice, making it easier to scaffold the calling side of an agent integration.

Fixes

  • CLI now installs via an npm bin shim instead of editing shell profiles — blocks is available immediately after npm install -g @blocks-network/cli without restarting your terminal.
  • removeAgent (Node and Python SDK) now authenticates with BLOCKS_API_KEY directly. The previous approach used a runtime credential, which returned 403 because runtime tokens don't carry management permissions.
